Children in that wondrous age between three and four years old are bubbling with curiosity and excitement about taking on the world. Our preschool teachers at Kids Garden Learning Academy work with each young student to nurture their sprouting self-confidence, problem-solving skills and budding friendships as well as enhance their growing abilities to communicate, listen and follow rules.

The National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) advises parents that “children who attend high-quality preschools enter kindergarten with better pre-reading skills, richer vocabularies and stronger basic math skills.” As part of our comprehensive preschool program, we utilize the Saxon Early Learning curriculum to help students develop skills in math, science, social relationships and language. This research-based program complies with all core standards at the national and state levels and within the Las Vegas school system.

While we follow a curriculum with weekly and monthly themed units, Kids Garden believes in introducing early fundamentals through hands-on activities and play. This enables each student to developmentally progress at their own pace. It also lets them explore their natural curiosity, imagination and talents.

In the preschool program at Kids Garden Learning Academy in Las Vegas, we balance structured activities with self-directed, independent exploration in the following areas:

Language Acquisition

The average preschooler learns an average of 500 to 600 words and begins to speak in simple sentences. We lay the foundation for early literacy skills by creating a language-rich environment and introducing alphabet recognition. Our preschoolers play with letters, join daily group readings and participate in many conversations. Our program provides instruction in English, Spanish and American Sign Language skills.

Social Skills

Preschoolers need guidance in navigating their social relationships as they begin to interact more with each other. Through daily activities involving small group and the whole classroom, our students learn how to work together, compromise, share, use manners and be respectful of other people’s feelings. Learning these social and behavior management skills is essential to performing well in elementary school.

Problem Solving

Kids Garden Learning Academy students have plenty of opportunities to investigate and solve problems, which hones critical cognitive skills, such as thinking logically, making predictions and drawing conclusions. This supports the later development of skills needs for counting, sorting, adding and classifying objects.

We provide regular updates on your preschooler’s progress and offer suggestions on how you can support their development at home. Contact Kids Garden Learning Academy today to learn how we can help your child master their developmental milestones.
